Tired of boring bridal showers and bachelor’s parties? As a wedding guest or friend of the bride or groom, consider planning a couple’s shower, AKA “Jack and Jill Parties” or “Stag and Doe Parties“. It’s more fun, rewarding and having a Jack and Jill shower together with friends and family is easier to plan than two separate bridal shower and bachelor parties.
The California Room can accommodate up to 150 people. Invite everyone who is going to the wedding to the Jack & Jill! However, newlyweds may be on a tight budget and a Jack and Jill party is a great occasion to invite those, that may not be on the final invite list.
Jack and Jill’s are usually held from two months to two weeks before the wedding. However reserving the date is usually done as far in advance as possible. There are no customary rules. The party can be any time after the engagement up to a week before the wedding day. The Jack and Jill is not intended to surprise the soon to be couple so, ask them what works best for date and time. Jack and Jill showers are casual dress, unless otherwise noted on the invitation. Like any event, dress comfortably and wear those dancing shoes! The best gifts to give at Jack and Jill parties are gifts used by both the bride and the groom. Money is a favorite!
A themed party can be fun and if you have one it should be different from the wedding theme. You wouldn’t want the wedding to be a letdown with the theme being repeated. The most successful Jack and Jill’s sometimes include fun games featuring the bride & groom and the guests. Having raffle giveaway baskets seems to be a big winner too. Had my wedding reception here. Great staff! Customer service is #1 priority. Owner is super nice guy. 2 weeks before my wedding our caterer backed out. Reached out to Cali Room and the owner made sure this bride did not have to stress and went out and accomodated my food request in such short notice. DJ forgot to call a table up at wedding and they made my family at this table fresh hot food just for them. Food was delicious! Got a lot of compliments! Very prompt responses whenever I reached out. Would definitely recommend!! Baby shower in the near future and i already know I'd love to have it here. Thank you for everything Jeff!

I had my fiance's 30th surprise party here and I couldn't have been more happy with this location! The room was clean and ready for us right on time. The bartender was extremely nice and the owner answered all of my phone calls and emails quickly leading up to my event. For the size of the room and the services provided, it's very affordable. Would definitely recommend and rent again!

I had my wedding reception here and it was perfect! Jeff took exception care of the room to present it perfectly. It was very affordable and turned out amazing. The food was delicious and hot! All my guest raved about how great the food was! We had stuffed chicken and stuffed shells, roasted vegetables and potatoes. I was very impressed with the turn out of the room and its presentation. The photo booth was also a huge hit and all my guest loved and had fun going inside and getting to take there photo home with them! Jeff truly cares about the outcome of your event and will work with you to ensure it's exactly how you want it!

We just had my parents 50th wedding anniversary party here(65 people). The food was really good. We got the house salad, chicken broccoli rigatoni and the chicken parmesan, so good. They were very open to letting us organize it how ever we wanted. The whole event went great! Its hard to see the place when you are driving. Everyone said that had to turn around. Not a big deal. Maybe balloons and a road sign for your next event.

We just had my daughter’s 16th birthday party here last night and it fit what we were looking for. We planned to bring our own food (a taco bar) in order to keep costs down. Just be sure to bring EVERYTHING you might need for the meal including a power strip/extension cord if you need to plug things in. We used their sound system connected to my phone to be our own “DJ” and this worked out very well. The dance floor and lights were perfect. It was the right sized venue for our 70 person group. Just be aware that all drinks have to come from them (also no tap water only bottled). We used drink tickets for the teens and cash bar for the adults. We all had a fun night!

Chef Jeff, was amazing cooking Cameroonian and Ethiopian cuisine for one of my Event back in March. The whole course meal was cooked as if he lived in Africa and have already cooked the food prior. With little knowledge cooking African cuisine, he was able to think outside the box and create a meal that everyone raved about. I was impressed and would be using him again to carter upcoming events. Thank you Chef Jeff for all you did to make our event a success.

This is a nice place to rent out for a party. The inside is clean with a good amount of space for about 60-80 people. They have a dance floor and a bar. The bathrooms were pretty nice as well. The place is also reasonable priced. There seems to be plenty of parking. The only draw back is, is it behind a pizza shop. Some people said it was hard to find, but our GPS got us there without a problem.

I had a very positive experience at the California Room. I attended my cousins daughter's wedding on October 7, 2017. "It was fabulous! From the perfect weather to the event staff itself. We were surrounded by family and friends - it was quite a gathering. So many guest raved on how the food and service were. From the staff, DJ and those in attendance, made for a memorable night.

This is a clean, well-lit, well-managed function facility for smaller events. They have two rooms. The smaller room seats 80 and the larger seats up to 130 (I believe). The rooms are minimally decorated but they do allow you to bring your own decorations as long as it doesn't involve tape on the walls. Each room had its own full bar. The only downside to this place is the small dance floors. I have worked here as a DJ as well as used them for private functions of our own. A great value function hall.

The owner is very nice and helped out way more than expected! He made it easy and fast to set it up and decorate it the way we wanted. Whenever there was something we needed he helped in any way he could. The food was great and the bartender was super nice! I highly recommend it here and I definitely will be back in the future.

My mom just hosted my bridal shower this past weekend and it was absolutely amazing! I'm paying a fortune to get married up North and there room almost looks like the room I'm getting married in. So I highly recommend The California Room. The only thing I would do is request a rule sheet. They have a couple rules that we were unaware of but it wasn't a big deal! All my guest loved the room! And you cannot beat the price! Also the owner and staff are very nice!

We had our wedding and reception here. Jeff was very nice and set the hall up just the way we wanted it to be. We have rented halls for other functions in the past. They were no where near as personal and inexpensive as The California Room. Thanks for helping us create amazing memories!
